About Us
Our StoryThree local restauranteurs, Brienne Postema, Mike Wagner, and Tom Pugh, a.k.a. “The Three Amigos,” are joining forces to bring the flavors of South Carolina lowcountry to the Grand Rapids market.
Carolina Lowcountry Kitchen began while looking for a new concept to bring to the Grand Rapids area. The Three Amigos found some southern-style lowcountry recipes and felt it would go over well in Grand Rapids. In 2016 they traveled to Charleston, South Carolina for research. The team loved the foods and couldn’t wait to build on the concept and bring those flavors to their hometown. Carolina Lowcountry Kitchen was born out of a love of oysters, fresh fish, and laidback foods of the South Carolina coast. |
Our RestaurantCarolina boasts a full-service bar with draught and bottled beer, wine and spirits with an emphasis on craft cocktails, communal punches, wine and ice cream drinks such as Grasshoppers and Hummers.
Lowcountry is Southern fare from the coastal regions of South Carolina and Georgia with influences from other southern areas, such as New Orleans. The menu highlights some of those amazing flavors using traditional ingredients, heritage grains, and top quality meats and seafood while adding a little Michigan flare. Menu selections will include raw and grilled oysters, shrimp, gumbo, salads, burgers, sweet tea grilled and butternut fried variety chicken, and pork chops. |
